We know that you must justify every dollar you spend, including spending time and money to attend Advocacy@Work. You also need to stay competitive in today’s market. By attending this event, you’re bringing much needed attention to workplace issues that need it, for the benefit of your organization, and workplaces everywhere. Here’s how you can make the case:

Step 1: Review the program

Determine which sessions you want to attend. Select the ones that are most beneficial to you and your organization.  You can find solutions to your biggest challenges and identify new opportunities for growth. An added bonus - all sessions offer recertification credits, so you can earn hours to keeping your certification!

Step 2: Show how you can minimize costs

Register early and take advantage of early bird pricing! Also, book your hotel room through the official SHRM Housing Block and you'll get a fair rate. Take advantage of coffee breaks, receptions and exhibit hall lunches to help cut costs of dining out.

Step 3: Bring it all home

Commit to a post-conference briefing for staff, senior management or your team, where you’ll highlight what you’ve learned from the conference. Tie your learnings to your organization's long-term and short-term goals or strategic plan.

Step 4: Complete the request letter

Sometimes your boss will need it in writing, or just prefers to receive your request in an email. Don't worry - we've got you covered there too. Use our handy Letter Template to list your reasons for attending and submit to your supervisor.
